Ryeowook comes to school the next day, Friday, and he’s relieved to see Yesung’s made it. Okay, well, in a crutch and a cast on his leg but well, he’s made it to school.

“Hyung…” Ryeowook walked up to him, not knowing what to say because he’s responsible for what happened, and Yesung shouldn’t have saved him, whether he thought he should or not.

“Ryeowook! I’m glad you made it to school today. I was worried you wouldn’t.” Yesung enveloped Ryeowook in a tight, bone-crushing hug.

“Hyung..” Ryeowook pushed away from Yesung, tears brimming the rims of his eyes. “Are you okay? I thought you’d-” he couldn’t continue as tears started streaming down his face.

“Ryeowook!” Yesung was taken aback by the sight. The wiped Ryeowook’s tears away with his thumbs. “Don’t cry. It’s okay. Hyung is okay. Don’t cry, huh, Ryeowookie? Okay?” Yesung held Ryeowook’s head and rested it against the nape of his neck.

“Hyung…” Ryeowook was starting to feel embarrassed by his actions. They were in school, by the lockers. He lifted his head away from Yesung’s neck.

“Come, Ryeowook. Go for class.” Yesung didn’t notice Ryeowook’s embarrassment. He held Ryeowook’s hand, the other hand gripping his crutch, and led Ryeowook to Higher Biology class. Wolf-whistles could be heard around them, and Ryeowook blushed even harder.

Yesung didn’t seem to care.

Ryeowook saw that Kangin, Kibum and Kyuhyun were not there.

“Hyung.” He said, pointing to the three empty seats just 2 rows behind them. Yesung turned his head around, a smirk showing slightly on his face.

“I know.” Yesung turned back around. “I finally worked up the courage to report them. Because of you.” He made sure Ryeowook didn’t hear his last sentence. Ryeowook turned his head towards Yesung and smiled a grateful smile.

“Thank you, hyung.” Ryeowook’s voice was filled with sincerity.

No, thank you, Yesung thought. For letting me learn how to care.

Druing class, he remembered all those times where he just turned his head away from the damage. The torn school bags, the abused books, the waterlogged desks, the broken new students, Yesung shuddered. He couldn’t believe he’d let this continue for so long. Three years. It took him three years to realize what he didn’t do.

Yesterday, he decided that this couldn’t continue any longer. He had gone up to the teacher and basically did what he detested doing: talking to her. But it helped. Now that they were sorted out, Higher Biology wasn’t the most dreaded class on the list to go to now.

He took himself to the doctors’ after that, who had insisted he be hospitalized, but Yesung insisted otherwise, and the doctor couldn’t really say anything. He just put Yesung in a cast, and crutches, along with some ointment, and asked him to hope for the best, which Yesung said he would. He couldn’t really tell the doctor that there was someone he was more worried about than himself. Ryeowook.

He turned his head to the right to see Ryeowook next to him, copying down notes neatly and slowly, his other hand pushing his glasses up. Yesung smiled. He knew he had done the right thing.

Fin.

Note: I hope this is okay now??
